Installation methods
Hilti SafeSet System
Increase productivity, even in tough jobsite conditions
To safely install a chemical anchor, it's important to make sure that the dust is cleaned from the hole. Hilti's SafeSet method of installation automatically cleans the hole as you drill, eliminating the need for manual cleaning. The SafeSet method also works in tough jobsite conditions, including damp concrete.
Automatically clean holes as you drill
By attaching a Hollow Drill Bits to a Hilti concrete dust vacuum, the SafeSet system will clean holes as you drill.
Get the application done faster
The SafeSet system allows you to skip the brushing and blowing steps, which may increase installation speeds up to 60%.
Anchor in tough jobsite conditions
Our hollow drill bits are designed to work on your timeline, not the weather's. When working with damp concrete, just brush off the standing water and begin drilling.
Standard 2x2x2 Method
Consistency across all chemical anchors
Unlike with the SafeSet method, the standard method requires manual cleaning. This includes brushing the hole twice, blowing the hole twice, and then brushing it twice more, also known as the 2x2x2 method. The 2x2x2 method works with all of our chemical anchors, simplifying the installation process.
Making installation simple
The 2x2x2 method is included in all of our chemical anchor installation procedures. If it's a Hilti chemical anchor, the 2x2x2x method will install it properly.
Cleaning the hole should still be easy
The standard 2x2x2 method of installation requires using a wire brush to clean the drilled hole. Hilti allows any wire brush of the required size to be used, which can save you time and money.
Fast installation for deep embedments
Filling deep embedments for rebar doweling or high strength anchors can be difficult but Hilti's Piston Plug method makes this type of installation easier.
Using the Piston Plug method can help prevent the formation of air pockets when injecting adhesives into deep holes, which can compromise the strength of the anchor. With this method, you can help make sure the anchor element is completely bonded to the base material.
